The Research Intern will work on various laboratory research and/or pilot scale projects to drive improvement in POET’s technology. The intern will have the responsibility to execute all aspects of projects resulting in commercial value for POET. Communication and cooperation with POET team members is critical to insure project success. The Research Intern may interface with engineers, scientists, bioprocessing plant operators and plant maintenance crews.






To perform the essential functions of this position successfully, an individual should be able to demonstrate and provide the following:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Entering Junior level or higher college courses majoring in Chemistry, Biology, Engineering, or related curriculum.
  • Experience working with lab equipment including spectrophotometers and general chemical assay procedures.
  • Knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite and the ability and willingness to learn new techniques and applications.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and communications skills as well as the ability to adapt to change.
