Overview

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the coordination of plant work orders which are required for repair or upgrades. This position communicates ideas and plans with the Maintenance Manager to maximize performance and help control the Repair and Maintenance Budget. The Maintenance Supervisor is a hands-on position with expectation that they assist in all maintenance functions to include the management of the tool crib and spare parts inventory. The Maintenance Supervisor assists with the creation of preventative maintenance schedules for all equipment and maintains up-to-date Standard Operations Procedures. POET biorefineries operate on a 24-hour continuous schedule. The Maintenance Supervisor must be available as needed.

 

Qualifications

To perform the essential functions of this position successfully, an individual should be able to demonstrate and provide the following:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Secondary degree/greater education or other formal training within a manufacturing/production maintenance environment preferred.
  • Prior supervisory experience preferred.
  • Previous knowledge of maintenance procedures for centrifuges, drying equipment, boilers, cooling towers, chiller, air compressors, pumps, valves, electrical circuits and equipment and 4-20 milliamp instrumentation required.
  • Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems such as Maximo preferred.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations for both construction and manufacturing environments.
  • Some experience with fabrication, welding, cutting; repair of equipment such as pumps, gearboxes, agitator assemblies and valves, water chemistry; material handling systems such as conveyors; preventative maintenance practices, fabrication and repair of metal/plastic piping systems and instrument and electrical work preferred.
  • Experience with concrete work, hydraulics, pneumatic and fluid processes and ability to read schematic drawings preferred.
  • Knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite and the ability and willingness to learn new software applications.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills as well as the ability to adapt to change.
