JOB SUMMARY

 

As a POET Biofuels Database Developer, you will work in a database DevOps type capacity, performing tasks applicable to both a database developer and a database administrator. You will be deeply involved in many aspects our business and help manage and maintain some of our most critical systems.

 

This is an on-site role located in Wichita, KS.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Monitor, optimize, and maintain database systems and performance
  • Modify databases according to requests and perform tests
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot database errors
  • Collaborate with developers to improve applications and establish best practices
  • Develop technical and training materials
  • Manage database access and provide data management support to users
  • Research and suggest new database technologies, services and protocols
  • Create and manage database reports, visualizations, and dashboards
  • Create automation for repetitive database tasks
  • Address issues escalated from our internal or external customers or our support team

 

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • 3+ years of experience with database development and administration
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field of study
  • 1+ year of experience with Microsoft SQL Server, including SSMS, SSRS, and SSIS
  • Microsoft PowerBI Report Server experience nice-to-have
  • Experience with Windows Server environments and Active Directory managed permissions
  • Familiarity with source code management concepts
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills as well as the ability to embrace change
  • Highly effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
