JOB SUMMARY

 

POET Is seeking a highly motivated, self-driven Collections Manager with a passion for people! The Collections Manager is responsible for supporting POET’s accounting functions, including; team member development, manage daily operations, coordinating activities to maintain customer focus with high level of customer satisfaction, communicate priorities, and carry out company-wide initiatives. Other responsibilities include the reporting process that provides value added information and analysis for internal customers and executive management, driving continuous improvement for operations. Collaboration with business operations and strong leadership and development of collection accounting staff are key components of this role. 

 

This role is located onsite in Wichita, KS.

 

DURING A TYPICAL DAY

  • Effectively execute departmental strategies and company objectives through leadership, coaching, managing performance and career development and training of accounting team members
  • Partnering with and providing information, including insight and suggestions for improvement, to business operations and finance leadership team members, supporting day to day needs and key business initiatives
  • Setting clear expectations with team members and fostering a trusting culture of teamwork and individual accountability
  • Collaborating with IT to drive solutions for reporting and system improvements focused on business priorities and process efficiency
  • Accounting policy and procedure development, focused on efficient processes that drive accuracy and result in valuable information for the business
  • Interfacing with external auditors to provide support and answer questions as needed
  • Achieve portfolio performance objectives related to delinquency and losses
  • Use existing, and establish new, data and reporting to effectively monitor, manage and control collections-related processes
  • Identify and implement initiatives that target improved employee efficiency, effectiveness and compliance adherence
  • Support management directives, implementing required changes while effectively leading the change management process for the collections team members
  • Serve as escalation point for complex customer/loan situations and various approval requests

QUALIFICATIONS: WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING 

  • Bachelor’s degree in the area of accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years working in an accounting or finance role
  • 2+ years of leadership experience, mentoring, coaching and developing teams
