JOB SUMMARY

The Prevailing Wage Compliance Manager is the company’s subject matter expert regarding laws and regulations related to the prevailing wage and apprenticeship provisions of the Inflation Reduction Act. The manager will establish processes and monitor the company and its subcontractors for compliance. In addition, this position will participate in internal audits performed by the company. The manager is a member of the corporate tax department and will work closely with our Construction Management and Business Assurance teams.

DURING A TYPICAL DAY

  • Develop and implement a process to monitor and track compliance with prevailing wage rates and apprenticeship requirements on construction projects.
  • Provide focused direction and leadership on strategic long-term prevailing wage policies and procedures to enhance organizational value, consistency, and efficiency.
  • Provide training and guidance to project managers, superintendents, and other team members on prevailing wage and apprenticeship compliance requirements.
  • Manages the process to track and review payroll for internal self-performing labor.
  • Routinely conduct site audits and job studies
  • Work with outside tax, legal counsel and government agencies on prevailing wage-related issues and audits.
  • Participate in training opportunities, formal or hands-on.

STRENGTHS OF A SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Law, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Experience with Davis-Bacon Act compliance and implementation.
  • Five years of internal or external auditing experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and advocacy skills; ability to interface and communicate effectively and diplomatically with all levels of personnel including individuals in many distinct functions and business units.
  • These are new requirements for POET, you will need to be adaptable to new tasks and responsibilities as the process stabilizes and maintains over the years.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills. Ability to build relationships across functions, service lines, geographies, and levels.
  • Excellent organizational skills, demonstrated ability to create, plan and successfully execute projects; the ability to meet multiple deadlines in a demanding environment.
  • Able to adjust quickly to changing priorities and manage conflicts effectively and expeditiously.
  • You have the ability to understand technical and day to day operation of a bioprocessing facility.
  • Understand the basics of Microsoft Office Suite and capable of learning new programs.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • This position operates in an office environment working at a personal computer where you may sit or stand.
  • Up to 25% travel will be part of the norm for this position to visit the bioprocessing facilities for meetings and site visits during construction. At times overnight travel may be required.
  • In this role, you’ll be asked to drive a POET vehicle. A motor vehicle record check will be conducted during the pre-employment process.
